John and Elizabeth booked us about a year before for their wedding in September 2010, which was held at St Brigids RC church in Northfield. As with most of the Roman Catholic churches we work at, we were given permission to do pretty much as we pleased. It’s so nice not have unnecessary restrictions when trying to photograph someone’s big day and we do wonder why some anglican church and registrars often have more negative attitudes towards photographs.
The outside of St Brigids is quite plain but inside, the church is quite bright and spacious with a stunning colour mural behind the altar.
As St Brigids has no grounds to speak of, all of the formal photographs were done at the reception venue – Studley Castle in Warwickshire. We’ve worked at Studley a few times in the past and have always enjoyed the grounds, which have some great photo opportunities.
