Back in 2012, it had been a while since we photographed a wedding at Grafton Manor, but in September, we returned there for the wedding of Anna and Nick. This was a very unsettled Autumnal day, with rain present for much of the time we were working.
Anna and Nick booked us earlier this year and their actual wedding took place at St John’s church in Hagley (on the Hagley Hall grounds). We always like working here as the church looks lovely inside, with it’s numerous flags and marble carvings. The staff are always very friendly too, which just makes life that bit easier.
Following the service, the rain did it’s best to dampen spirits but everyone just ignored it and congratulated the couple anyway, which made for lots of great candid photos. So nice to see this and I was right in the middle of it all!
Onto Grafton and the drinks receptions held in one of the manor house’s main reception rooms. Due to the rain, we abandoned the idea of doing the group photos outside in the grounds, and instead got the flashguns and lightstands out and proceeded with them all inside. It’s not often we have to do this, but it’s fun to do and is far better than getting all the guests wet.
This was a slightly shorter coverage for us than usual, concluding just after the speeches finished, but we couldn’t resist doing one last shot of Anna and Nick in front of the lit-up building, just after the sun went down.
A big thank-you to Anna and Nick for looking after us on the day. Hope you like your photos 🙂
