Located in the leafy Warwickshire countryside, Sherbourne Park is a wedding venue that doesn’t come up too often in enquiries. They take on only a handful of bookings each year, so we were really excited when Rachel and Matt booked us for their July wedding.

Although we’d not worked at the venue previously, we had photographed a wedding at the same church. Sherbourne All Saints is a really beautiful building with a towering spire and ornate architecture. It lies on the edge of Sherbourne Park’s grounds and is literally walking distance from the main house. The church was originally commissioned by Louisa Ryland, one of the major historic benefactors of the city of Birmingham and her descendants still reside there today. All Saints is definitely one of the finest churches we’ve ever worked at and also very welcoming and friendly.

This was very much a local wedding for Rachel and Matt, who live in a nearby village – and with the church sitting next to the venue it made for an intimate, friendly and relaxed wedding with no travel to break the day up.

Following the church service, everyone made the quick walk through the venue grounds for the drinks reception. This is one of the busiest parts of the day for us, but with ample time given and a bare minimum of formal group photos to be done, we got to work capturing the wedding party enjoying the sunshine and company in our preferred, candid way. With the temperatures in the high twenties and dazzlingly bright sun, some of the guests made the most of the venue’s private swimming pool. First time we’ve ever seen the groom go for a swim on his wedding day! :-)

The reception was held in a beautiful teepee-style marquee on Sherbourne Park’s main front lawn, provided by Tents4Elements. The couple had gone for a village-fete look to everything. Most of the flowers had been grown in their own garden and guests brought a huge variety of home-made puddings for the evening party. With the sides of the marquee opened out, it made for a lovely, cool setting for the reception meal and party – and the food was magnificent!

A hugely enjoyable, fun-packed summer wedding. Rachel, Matt and their friends were brilliant to work with and the venue itself was a joy to photograph. Hope you enjoy looking through these pictures as much as we enjoyed taking them :-)
