In August we made our second visit of the year to Pendrell Hall in Staffordshire for the wedding of Kathryn and Andrew.
As usual, we did a split morning, with Rob covering the bridal preps at Pendrell and Sarah covering the men getting ready at Andrew’s family home nearby.
Kathryn and Andy had chosen to get married at their local parish church – St Nicholas in Codsall, just a few minutes away from Pendrell. The vicar conducted the service in a really nice, relaxed manner and was also happy for us to work with no restrictions to speak of.
Despite a few nerves earlier in the day, once the wedding party arrived at Pendrell Hall everyone relaxed into the reception party. It’s a great venue to work at for many reasons and it’s easy to see how it has become one of the most popular wedding venues in the Midlands.
An absolutely smashing couple to work with, Kathryn and Andrew had a well-planned day with plenty of time for photos. At no point did we feel rushed or short of time and couple themselves were such a pleasure to work with. We did two photo sessions with them alone – a short one in the afternoon and a longer one taking advantage of the lovely evening light.
As the evening party started, the entertainment was provided by the excellent Detroit Soul – a nine piece band complete with two singers and brass section. We’ve seen a far higher number of live bands during 2014’s weddings and Detroit Soul were definitely one of the best.
So a big thank-you to Kathryn and Andrew for asking us to photograph their wedding and for ensuring we were kept fed and watered. Here’s a selection of pics from the day…
