“We love the photographs. They are amazing. I’m so pleased.
I rarely like pictures of myself but you’ve caught some amazing moments and everybody looks fantastic. Thank you so much.”
Our first wedding of 2015 saw us return to Nailcote Hall in Warwickshire, for the wedding of Lizzie and Henry.
Typical for February, this was a chilly winter day, but the greyness outside was soon forgotten once inside the venue. From the flowers, to the room decoration, the bridesmaid’s dresses and even the cake – this was a wedding full of vivid colour.
The civil service and first part of the day was held in Nailcote’s main gallery. This area is partly underground but with a large overhead canopy window which lets in plenty of light to create a really lovely space. The proceedings started off in good form with Lizzie making her entry to Howard Shore’s ‘Concerning Hobbits’ theme from the Lord Of The Rings films 🙂
This was a well-paced wedding day, with ample ‘breathing room’ at every juncture. It was particularly nice for us to have a good portion of time available to capture people relaxing and chatting during the drinks reception. Sometimes venues cut the this part of the day rather short, rushing things more than is really necessary, but not on this wedding. Each part of the day just seemed to flow into the next and at no point did we – or the guests – feel rushed. Being a winter wedding we got most of the ‘couple’ photos of Lizzie and Henry completed during the afternoon, but we made sure we got a few more done in the evening with additional lighting.
This was a smashing wedding to start off 2015 with – colourful, fun and full of laughs and good feeling, but always heartfelt and honest. A really big thank you to Lizzie and Henry for not only asking us to document their day, but for keeping us fed and being such a pleasure to work with – and defying the cold!
