At the end of May, we were in rural Leicestershire for our first visit to a grand and beautiful venue just outside Lutterworth. Kilworth House, built at the end of the 19th century, is a grade II listed country mansion which has been owned by just two families over the last 120 years. Set within acres of grounds and surrounded by the Leicestershire countryside, it makes for a really lovely wedding venue.
Lizzie and Jay were one of the first couples to book us for 2015. Their entire wedding day was held at Kilworth which does allow a bit more time to better appreciate the venue.
The civil wedding service was held in The Orangery which was also used for the wedding breakfast. Lots of space and opening out onto the main terrace, it was a really beautiful setting and lovely to work in due to the abundance of natural light. Evening entertainment came from the brilliant 9-piece Detroit Soul.
We really liked Kilworth House. It has more photo opportunities than you could possibly use during one wedding and the staff were professional and friendly throughout the day. Definitely a venue we look forward to returning to. A really big thank-you to Lizzie, Jay and family for looking after us on the day (and the food was great!).
