“The pictures are amazing! The slideshow was gorgeous, we sat down with a cuppa to watch it :)”
At the end of May we made a return visit to Coombe Abbey near Coventry. Sara and Ray’s entire wedding was held at the venue and they had a glorious summer day on which to get married.
The wedding itself took place in the Abbeygate, which is the same part of the hotel used to host banquets and other events. Although dark in places, we always think it works really well for a wedding ceremony, with the couple up on the stage and lighting illuminating the proceedings nicely.
With the civil ceremony over everyone went back into the bright sunlight for a short drinks reception on the main hotel terrace before making their way into the Cloisters room for the wedding breakfast.
Sara and Ray’s wedding day had a lovely atmosphere and the couple themselves were brilliant to work with. Coombe Abbey is quite a large venue and the surrounding grounds and park need a bit of time to take advantage of properly. We enjoyed a relaxed, and unrushed portrait session with them in the evening light. This is always one of our favourite points of a wedding day and it’s made so much more enjoyable when the couple themselves are as fun to work with as Sara and Ray were.
Here’s just some of Sara and Ray’s wedding photos. Hope you like them.
