Himley Hall, located a few miles from the centre of Dudley, has been hosting weddings and other events for several years. An 18th century ‘country house’, Himley has had a varied and interesting history and in the past was known for its royal connections. Situated in the middle of Himley Park, it’s a popular venue in the Black Country area and in August we made our first visit there for the wedding of Sam and Craig.
We don’t seem to have had many completely dry weddings this summer, so it made a nice change to start coverage of Sam and Craig’s preps on a warm and sunny morning. The wedding service itself was held at St Michael & All Angels church, situated just outside the park boundary and following this everyone made the short journey up to Himley Hall for the reception.
Sam and Craig came to us as a recommendation from Sam and Ian, whose wedding we photographed last year. Theirs was very much a family-centred wedding and they put together a lovely day for everyone to enjoy. A big thank you to Sam and Craig for looking after us 🙂
We really liked Himley. The building itself and the surrounding park provide a wealth of photo opportunities. The staff were very friendly and kept things running along nicely – and the food was lovely too!
