“The photos are absolutely brilliant, you’ve both done an amazing job, we really are spoilt for choice,
but then we never had any doubt that they would be great.”
Pre-Christmas weddings often have a certain ‘buzz’ to them – as if everyone there is geared up for the holiday and is seeing the wedding as a welcome start to the festive season.Just as the 2014 festive season began, we made a return to Nuthurst Grange on a gorgeous December day, for the wedding of Claire and Peter.
The staff at Nuthurst had given the venue just enough festive decoration to make it feel Christmassy but without making it look over the top. Claire’s dress – meticulously detailed in crimson and cream – seemed just right for the time of the year while her custom-made Freya Rose shoes finished things of perfectly.
The service took place in the larger of Nuthurst’s two converted barns – this is always a lovely room to work in as it as plenty of light but also a warm, inviting feel to it. Following the ceremony, there were a few family group pictures to take care of before we took Claire and Peter off around the grounds on their own.The drinks reception – that period between the end of the wedding service and when the party sits down for food – is always probably the busiest part of the day for us. But in the colder months, with shorter days, it means we also need to get the vast majority of the ‘couple’ photos completed also.As we took Claire and Peter off to tour the Nuthurst grounds, we were having to keep an eye on the time, but we were also counting our blessings as the beautiful weather from earlier in the day held. Although not exactly warm in terms of temperature, there was at least a nice bit of ‘warm’ light to use as we made our way around the gardens and buildings.
The wedding was just a pleasure to work on from start to finish. A really big thank-you to Claire and Peter for not only asking us to photograph their wedding, but for also making us feel like part of the party.
