Amie and Jamie’s wedding was a beautifully planned and realised day held at the classic Shropshire venues of St Peter’s church and Delbury Hall. There’s certain combinations of church and reception venue that just work very well together and Delbury and St Peter’s – located in the rather wonderfully-named village of Diddlebury, is one of best examples.
Wedding ceremony at St Peter’s Church Diddlebury
We’ve love weddings at St Peter’s. It’s such a photogenic church, situated atop a small rise with a long path leading from the wonderful old lychgate. But the best thing about St Peter’s is Rev John Beesley. Very often with Anglican church we’re never quite sure what the attitude towards photography will be, but Rev John is right up there with the best of them. The church is just a short walk through the grounds to Delbury Hall so very convenient for guests (and us!).
Wedding reception at Delbury Hall
This was a lovely August day so the guests were able to enjoy the surroundings during the drinks reception, held on the lawn in front of the main house and next to the pond. An almost idyllic location for people to relax and have a drink and chat before the meal. As usual, the catering and event management was handled skilfully by Willem and his team from Ludlow Catering.
No wedding at Delbury would be complete without a photo shoot in the grounds and on this particular evening we had lovely conditions for it. The Delbury grounds are large and varied and it’s always a highpoint of the day to take the couple off around them for photos, especially on a summer evening.
Amie and Jamie had planned their day brilliantly and had a lovely group of people around them. We really appreciate the time we were given at every point in the day as it really does make our role so much more enjoyable and rewarding. A really big thank you to Amie and Jamie for asking us to photograph their wedding. Enjoy the photos…
