“They are such amazing pictures, thank you. Our family love them too.”
Packington Moor -situated between Tamworth and Lichfield – has been a popular ‘barn’ venue for many years and has a great reputation for service and food. Our first visit there was in March, for the wedding of Gillian and Kris, who booked us last summer.
All of the day’s events took place at the venue. We arrived late morning to cover both Gillian and Kris’ preparations – next door to each other in the two cottages close to the main barns. Then, the weather took a turn for the worst and it looked as though we were in for a wet day. Luckily though, the downpour ceased just as Gillian made her to way across the grounds for the ceremony and with a huge dose of luck we continued to dodge the rain for the rest of the day!
Following the civil wedding service, held in the beautifully rustic Oat Barn, we got the formal groups completed nice and quickly with the help of Kris’ best man. We then took Gillian and Kris away from the crowd for their main photo session. As the main gardens had yet to come to life following winter we used Packington’s buildings and outer grounds – a varied and rich environment for pictures.
We really enjoyed our first visit to Packington Moor. The staff were great and we particularly liked the dedicated reception room used for the wedding breakfast. A large space, with good light and beautiful wooden beams. We look forward to returning for our next booked wedding there, in October.
A big thank-you to Gillian and Kris for asking us to photograph their wedding day and for ensuring we were fed properly, it really is appreciated. A really lovely couple with a great circle of friends and family.
