As wedding photographers, working at a venue we’ve not seen before is always something to look forward to and 2013 has given us plenty. For the wedding of Kerry and Andrew, we made our first visit to the popular Warwick House in Southam, Warwickshire.
Kerry and Andrew contacted us some months ago when trying to find a wedding photographer. They’re both originally from Warwickshire, but have made a life for themselves in Australia, so had to do nearly all the planning and arranging from overseas – not an easy task! We met them just a few days before the wedding for their pre-wedding shoot, but this was quite short as they were still suffering the effects of jet-lag!
For the most part, this was a fine, sunny August day and at times exceptionally bright. As the forecast seemed good, the couple had decided to hold their wedding ceremony outside in Warwick House’s rear gardens. With the steps leading down into the lower garden and the surrounding trees, this made for a lovely setting.
Although Warwick House doesn’t have huge grounds, what is there is nicely kept and for the evening ‘couple’ session we used the white front aspect of the building, which looked particularly good in the evening light. The interior too, has many photogenic spots including the spacious bar area with its tall windows and ornate sofas. Although the bridal suite isn’t used as a ‘getting ready’ room – there is a separate, dedicated room for that – we did get access to it at a couple of points during the day, so all-in-all, we had quite a rich and varied environment in which to take pictures.
As a venue, we liked Warwick House. It looks lovely, the food is great and the staff were really on the ball. Special mention must be made of the coordinator Lindsay, who ran the day exceptionally well.
A lovely couple, a good venue and a smashing wedding – Andy and Kerry, thank you 🙂
For the wedding guests – all of the pictures are now available to view in Kerry and Andy’s client gallery. If you need the gallery password, please contact us stating the date of the wedding and we’d be happy to send it to you.
