” The preview pictures are awesome! We’re really impressed. We’ve shared it with the wedding party and comments so far have been:
They have captured how fun the day was amazingly!
Awesome day for ace people!
Absolutely brilliant. Love them!
.. and various other adjectives including but not limited to ‘superb’, ‘lovely’, and ‘brilliant’ :-)”
The Welcombe Hotel, on the outskirts of Stratford-upon-Avon, is a wedding venue we’ve been to just once before – and that was only to cover bridal preparations. We were looking forward then to returning to this very popular Warwickshire venue, for the wedding of Sarah and Ally.
The wedding ceremony and reception were both to be held at the hotel and Sarah also chose to get ready in one of the lovely rooms, which incidentally had a really nice quality of light. There is simply no substitute for large windows and plenty of space! 🙂
There was a definite ‘informal’ feel to this wedding – the men chose not to wear ties. The bride, groom and bridal party all wore custom-made Converse All-Star trainers (with the wedding date adorning the heel).
As the weather was looking a little ominous, we chose to get the family groups done immediately after the service on the terrace area outside the ceremony room, before the main drinks reception began. We then went straight into Sarah and Ally’s first ‘couple’ session in the gardens. This really is a great area for taking pictures, with the many ornamental flower beds, benches, fountains and other decorations, all with the stately backdrop of the main hotel building. Just as we wrapped up the photo session, the sky suddenly became very dark and forboding and as expected, the rain began as guests ducked into the bar for the remainder of the drinks reception.
By the time the wedding breakfast and speeches had finished the weather had settled and, allowing the party to relax on the terrace in the lovely evening light. During this time, we also took the couple off for a second photo session -this time using some of the interiors and the front aspect of the hotel.
This was such an enjoyable wedding to work on. Sarah and Ally were enormous fun to work with and a similar feeling was evident through the whole day.
Shortly after we delivered their wedding pictures, we received a personalised thank-you card from the couple. The photo on the front had us in stitches! Thank you again to Sarah and Ally 🙂
