Sophie & David – Tanworth-in-Arden & Famly Farm
“Wow…..We absolutely love the photographs you took of our wedding!
Looking over these was like experiencing the fun of the day all over again. I am still in awe as you guys captured every aspect of the day,
we especially loved the pictures of the speakers as well as the audiences reactions!
We love home weddings. Possibly because they’re hosted in surroundings familiar to the couple and guests, weddings held at home just feel a little different to those at established venues.
In August we photographed a really lovely wedding which had its reception held at the groom’s family home in Warwickshire – on a working farm, no less. David and Sophie booked us only a few months prior to their date, but their whole wedding had been planned in a relatively short period of time.
Although the majority of the day was spent at the farm, the wedding service itself was held at St Mary Magdalene church in Tanworth-in-Arden. This is impressive parish church has many beautiful features and dominates the main square of village. It was a bit of a shame then that we were only allowed to photograph from the back of the church as it’s really quite a large building. At least they were polite about it though!
With the service, hugs and confetti all done, it was time for the wedding party to move on to the reception. A large marquee had been erected with facilities for the catering staff, ‘posh’ portable loos and plenty of hay bales dotted around for people to sit on. Inside the marquee the tables were all set up beautifully for the wedding breakfast, particular the stunning flowers and cake – decorated with potatoes made from icing sugar. During the speeches, it was explained how the icing potatoes were not just whimsical, but were actually a small tribute to David’s late father who “knew a thing or two about potatoes”. 🙂
The informality of the setting and truly personalised nature of the arrangements made for a relaxed afternoon and evening with everyone having plenty of time to chat and catch-up properly. This was a particularly important aspect to the couple, as a number of their guests (including Sophie’s twin sister) had made the journey over from Australia. A lovely day and great people to work with. Enjoy the photos….
