“Stunning! Can’t thank you enough, we LOVE them!”
The Mill Barns in Shropshire opened for weddings in the summer of 2017. Designed from the ground up to be a wedding venue, The Mill Barns was built on the site of an old hotel which burned down a few years prior. Our first wedding at The Mill Barns – and our final one for 2017 – was Jess and Steve’s, held on New Year’s Eve.
Steve chose to get ready at home while Jess and her bridesmaids used the dedicated bridal prep area at the venue. Their civil ceremony took place late in the day, with a short blessing held immediately afterwards during the final minutes of daylight.
It was already twilight outside by the time the drinks reception got underway which meant all of Jess and Steve’s couple photos had to be done with additional lighting. A little different to how we normally work but we enjoyed the challenge 🙂 The exteriors of The Mill Barns are lit up rather nicely which makes for a great backdrop for pictures.
Jess and Steve avoided some of the usual wedding traditions and kept their day exactly how they wanted it, so no cake-cutting (not sure you could really cut Krispy Kremes anyway!), no first-dance and a very limited number of formal photos. What this wedding had in abundance though was…heart and fun 🙂 Enjoy the pictures…
