Preparing for your wedding day in the rooms at The Abbey Hotel

The Abbey Hotel has 103 bedrooms which means you’re spoiled for choice when it comes to deciding where to get ready on the morning of your wedding.  If you choose to have ‘getting ready’ photos, we’ll cover the morning quietly and without fuss or ‘faking’ anything, while still capturing the key details and portraits.

Your civil wedding ceremony at the Abbey Hotel

Your wedding ceremony is the central part of the day and we’ll photograph it quietly and discreetly.  We’ll work with the officiant and keep out of the way, covering the ceremony without flash or drawing any attention to ourselves. whilst still capturing all the moments between yourselves and your guests.

The Abbey Hotel has two suites licensed for civil wedding ceremonies – The Elgar Suite and The Shaw Suite and the former can host more than a hundred people if required.

For church ceremonies, the Abbey Hotel is located next door to Great Malvern Priory church and there are many other places of worship dotted around the town and surrounding areas.

Wedding Photography in the Abbey Hotel gardens

The lower garden at The Abbey Hotel is a great spot for your drinks reception – where you can mingle with your guests once the wedding ceremony is complete.  Your wedding group photos also work very well here, as do photos of just the two of you.  Partially enclosed by the beautiful hotel building and the huge Priory Church, the gardens provide a great location for everyone to relax into the afternoon and again in the early evening.

Meal, speeches and evening reception

The function suites at The Abbey Hotel are ‘turned around’ after the ceremony in order to host your wedding meal and speeches.  Later in the day, the space is used for your evening reception party.  Photographing these parts of the day are all about capturing the atmosphere and fun.

Your wedding portraits in the grounds at The Abbey Hotel

The Abbey Hotel has two separate gardens which are great spots for making photos of the two of you. Both gardens are well kept and have the hotel building and Priory Church as a backdrop.

Our goal when photographing the two of you, is to make the pictures look natural, relaxed and effortless.  Our couple pictures are simply about showing the two of you enjoying some time together within the location of the venue you’ve chosen.  They Abbey Hotel grounds are full of photo opportunities for us to use and for you to enjoy.
