“We were absolutely blown away.
Every single picture was incredible.”

Olivia & James

We photograph weddings all over Worcestershire and when we go back to Avoncroft Museum it always feels like a home from home.  It’s been a little while since we’ve worked at Avoncroft, but the place is so familiar we feel like we’ve never been away!  Having got married here ourselves and photographed the weddings of many other couples, Avoncroft is not only one of our most local wedding venues, but also one that really does hold special meaning for us. Oliva and James reached out to us more than a year in advance of their big day having seen our previous Avoncroft weddings.  This was simply a lovely day, with great weather (warm, sunny, but not too hot!) and a lovely bunch of people.

Hanbury Church Wedding Ceremony

This was very much a local wedding with the ceremony taking place at Hanbury Church, just a short drive from Avoncroft.  It’s a church we’ve photographed at many times and we always like returning.  The church has special meaning for Olivia as several of her relatives got married here over the years.  Following the ceremony, they asked us if we could re-create a group photo that those previous weddings all had on the steps outside the church.  We’re happy to do so and it was quite touching to see that same set-up in old photos on display at the reception.

We have a dedicated church wedding photography page featuring more of our work at churches across Worcestershire, Warwickshire and the Midlands.

Wedding reception at Avoncroft

After a few minutes of ‘couple’ photos at the church, we made our way to Avoncroft Museum for the reception.  As with most of the weddings we’ve done here over the years the catering was handled by our friends Colin and Debbie of Complete Caterers who always put on a great spread for everyone.  We must also mention the cake – made by the bride herself!  Top job Olivia!  We can also confirm that the cake tasted as good as it looked :-)

Avoncroft Museum was chosen as their reception venue for two very good reasons.  Firstly, it was local,  but more importantly because Olivia is an architect.  The venue’s many buildings – all carefully transplanted from their original locations – provided a fitting backdrop to their wedding.  Of course this meant that a couple photo session around the exhibits was a high priority and we had nigh on perfect conditions for it before the evening reception kicked off.

Although it’s lovely to travel to new areas for weddings, doing one so close to home – especially at Avoncroft – is something we’ll never get tired of.  Olivia and James’ day was full of colour, life and love and we absolutely relished it.
