Laura & Tom

We kicked off the new year with small, intimate wedding held on a slightly wet January day. Laura and Tom were legally married a few days prior but their main celebration was held at Avoncroft Museum, followed by drinks, speeches and meal at The Vernon pub in Hanbury.

We’ve photographed many weddings at Avoncroft over the years but this was the first which didn’t use the main Guesten Hall. Instead, Laura and Tom’s blessing was held in the Mission Church – a small ‘tin chapel’ originally built at Bringsty Common in Herefordshire. This was a really lovely ceremony with the self-penned reading from their son being a particular highlight.

This was a slightly shorter day for us than usual, starting with getting ready and concluding late-afternoon just after the speeches, so we were home with our feet up by tea-time! But despite fewer hours, we were still able to capture the day in the same way, just without the evening party. We had plenty of time for a great couple shoot with Laura and Tom around Avoncroft’s myriad of buildings and even had time to set up additional pictures of them at The Vernon with additional lighting. These rounded off what had been a really lovely day which the shorter coverage suited perfectly.

A big than you to Laura and Tom.  Enjoy the pictures!
