Photographing the entire day at Cider Mill Barns

Our first full-day wedding of 2022 saw us travel into deepest Warwickshire to a venue which has only been open for a short time.  Hester and Mike’s original plans to get married in 2021 got waylaid by the pandemic, but they were finally able to settle on a March ’22 date and had booked Cider Mill Barns in Pebworth.  They booked the two of us for a full day of photography, starting with ‘getting ready’ in the morning all the way through to the evening party. They also fell lucky with the weather – although not exactly ‘warm’, this was a bright, dry and slightly breezy spring day with some really lovely light conditions, especially later in the day.

We loved working on this wedding.  Everyone – and I mean the entire crowd – was just there to celebrate the day and enjoy themselves.  We especially enjoyed the atmosphere of the early evening.  This is a part of the day where often very little happens but with a combination of evening guests arriving, kids enjoying the sweet table and arm-wrestling (!) this was a lively and fun way to kick off the evening party.  A really big thank-you to Hester and Mike for asking us to photograph their big day.  Enjoy the pictures!

You can read more about the venue and see the suppliers who worked in this wedding at the bottom of this post.

Our experience working at Cider Mill Barns

This was our first time photographing a wedding at Cider Mill Barns.  We loved that there was so much natural light – the ceremony room was especially enjoyable to work in, with its large windows and raised ‘stage’ where the civil ceremony took place.  As guests mingled after the ceremony, the party moved to the outdoor area, with an organised confetti throw and drinks in courtyard.

The way the venue has been planned means that those who prefer to go outdoors still feel part of the wedding.  Guests can see each other through the windows and it all feels very connected and non-compartmentalised.  The courtyard can also be used for outdoor ceremonies and has an undercover section.    And as we took the couple off for a little explore around the grounds we found plenty of photo opportunities, especially with the dramatic wooden arches and we can only imagine how good the gardens are going to look as they mature in the coming years.

Of course, much of our impression of a wedding venue is formed by the staff.  This is very much a family-run venue and Adrian’s team – featuring his three daughters –  are always lovely to work alongside.   Friendly, efficient and professional which makes Cider Mill Barns a pleasure to work at.  We very much look forward to going back!

About Cider Mill Barns Wedding Venue

Cider Mill Barns is a purpose-built wedding venue located near Long Marston, between Stratford-upon-Avon and Evesham.  The owner – Adrian – and his team have run Four Leaf Clover catering for as long as we can remember and we’ve seen them at many previous weddings at other venues.  But Adrian’s plans to build his own wedding venue came to fruition in recent years and the venue opened in early 2020.

Cider Mill Barns was built for weddings and events, so has everything within easy reach.  There is lovely on-site accommodation for up to 14 guests in the Orchard Barn.  And the Bramley Barn, situated right next the main event space, is available for ‘getting ready’ and also as a more secluded overnight stay for the newly married couple.
