Mythe Barn, located near the fantastically-named village of Sheepy Magna has been on our ‘must do’ list for a while. Rebuilt and remodelled specifically to host weddings, Mythe Barn has become one of the most popular ‘barn’ venues in the region and at the end of September we were there for the wedding of Lucy and John.
While Mythe Barn is in Leicestershire, Lucy and John actually got married just over the border into Warwickshire at All Saints Church Grendon. This is a beautiful parish church and the vicar – Revd Roger Chamberlain – conducted Lucy and John’s service with a nice dose of humour. It’s vicars like this that really make a wedding service :-) The musical backdrop for parts of the church service and the daytime reception was provided by Rebecca Kelly (and her dad!) who we’ve met a few times at weddings and is always lovely to work alongside.
We had been looking forward to working at Mythe Barn and our experience didn’t disappoint. It’s a beautifully designed building that looks the part but is also functional, with plenty of light and space. The grounds are expansive and varied and there’s great team of staff on hand.. It all felt very ‘together’ and everything just ticked along nicely. The food passes the Rob & Sarah Test too :-) We had the added bonus of some nice light and a dramatic sky during Lucy and John’s evening photo shoot.
This was a fast-paced and busy day but one with a really happy, joyful energy to everything. A really big thank-you to Lucy and John for asking us to be a part of their big day. :-)
