Although there’s many venues we enjoy returning to, we’re always a bit excited when we get to photograph a wedding at a place we’ve not seen before. We’ve wanted to work at Stanbrook Abbey for a long time so we were chuffed when we took not one, but two bookings at this superb Worcestershire wedding venue this summer. The first wedding was that of Laura and Dan, held on a fine August day.
Laura and Dan’s entire wedding day was held at the venue – and Stanbrook is ideally suited for this. Laura and her bridesmaids were in Brides Manor – a large manor house connected to the main abbey building. It was renovated and refitted along with the rest of the hotel and provides a really beautiful place for the bride’s party to prepare for a wedding. Dan, his groomsmen and several of the other male guests got ready in the Groom’s Room. which is situated next to the Great Callow Hall, where the civil marriage service took place. This was the former chapel of the abbey and looks rather stunning with it’s intricate woodwork, tiled floor and dramatic arched ceiling. The wedding breakfast and speeches were held in the Thompson Dining Hall.
When it came to Laura and Dan’s evening photo shoot we had lovely weather conditions so we put Stanbrook’s beautiful grounds to good use. The couple really were a lot of fun to work with and we had lots of laughs with them as we made our way around the various parts of the venue before evening party started.
Such a rich environment for photos and great staff that made everything run nicely, how could we not like Stanbrook Abbey? Enjoy the pictures!
