Please note this wedding was published when the venue was still known as The Boathouse.  It has since changed names to The Bracebridge but continues to be available for weddings and other events.

When couples choose a venue for their wedding, there’s usually a point where they just ‘know’ they’ve found the right one.  In Laura and Tom’s case, their choice of reception venue was easily settled upon.  It was the place where they worked at in previous years and where they met.  They held their reception at The Bracebridge restaurant in Sutton Coldfield, with the actual service at St Anne’s RC church in Streetly.

St Anne’s, like many other Roman Catholic churches, is a bright, modern building with lots of light and space. And, as with virtually all of our experiences at RC churches, the priest was friendly, welcoming and gave a great service with lots of little bits of humour.  No silly restrictions on what we could photograph either, which is always a bonus.

Set in the middle of Sutton Park, The Bracebridge sits on the banks of Bracebridge Pool.  Although the building itself doesn’t have a huge amount of space, a large marquee had been set up outside on the restaurant patio area  with plenty of room for the 100+ guests.  Laura and Tom really had done a wonderful job  making the marquee interior look spectacular.  We did most of their couple photos in the woodland area surrounding the restaurant and even in the winter, it makes for a gorgeous setting.

We loved every minute of this wedding – Laura, Tom and their guests were lovely to work with and the unique setting for the reception really gave it a special feel. Enjoy the pictures…
