On a sunny September day we made a return visit to the wonderful Stanbrook Abbey for the wedding of Louise and Chris. We really enjoyed our our first wedding at Stanbrook in August so it was a treat to be able to return after less than a month. This time though, we saw different parts of the venue so we got to explore all over again!
The civil service was held in the Callow Great Hall – what used to be chapel when Stanbrook was still home to the Benedictine nuns. The reception was held in St Anne’s Hall, which is slightly smaller than the Thompson Dining Hall we saw on our previous visit. It has its own bar and lounge in an adjoining room and makes for a lovely space. Although connected by an interior walkway, it feels nicely separate to the main hotel building. St Anne’s also has a large adjoining garden and this was where Louise and Chris’ drinks reception was held.
As with our first visit to Stanbrook, we had a really gorgeous evening for the main couple shoot. Rather than just repeat the pictures we’d created here before, we used different areas of the grounds and we had a lot of laughs with Louise and Chris who were so much fun to work with.
Louise and Chris’ wedding was a really well-paced day with ample time and opportunity for the candid photography people book us for. It was an absolute pleasure to go back to Stanbrook Abbey but also to spend the day with Louise, Chris and their guests. Enjoy the pictures…
