at Bath Guildhall

Bride and groom have confetti thrown over them by wedding guests Guildhall in Bath

Big thank you to Robin for our wedding photos – neither of us feel at ease in front of a camera but Robin managed to create photos we love and that beautifully capture our special day. He understood what we were after and even helped get us into the closed botanical gardens for photos after the ceremony! We are so happy with the results and couldn’t recommend Robin enough!”

Steph & Tom

A small wedding in the city of  Bath

Steph and Tom enquired with us as we’d photographed the wedding of a family member a few years prior.  They planned a small, intimate wedding in the city of Bath, with fewer than 30 people in total and wanted photography from the arrival of the guests through to the afternoon reception.

The day began at Bathen House, a boutique hotel located just outside the centre of the city.  From here, everyone except the bride and her dad travelled by coach into town for the ceremony.  Due to traffic and parking restrictions in Bath, it made sense for Robin to travel with the guests.

Wedding ceremony at The Guildhall

The Guildhall is an elaborate, Grade I listed building in the centre of Bath.  As a municipal building, The Guildhall has many uses, but frequently hosts weddings of all sizes in its various rooms.  Steph and Tom used The Georgian Room which can accommodate up to 50 people.  This was a simple, legal civil ceremony, with everyone throwing confetti over the couple as they left the building.

Photos in Bath Botanical Gardens

With the ceremony wrapped up, Robin travelled with the couple back to the reception, but with a stop en-route at the Bath Botanical Gardens for a bit of time with the couple for photos.

This was a rainy March day and was also the same day as the Bath Half-Marathon, so there were extra traffic restrictions and road closures, including around the gardens.   However, Robin managed to persuade one of the security guards to let the car park closer to the entrane so the bride and groom didn’t get too wet!  So, with brolly in hand, a whirlwind tour of a few spots in the gardens followed before heading back to the car to return to Bathen House.

Reception at Bathen House

With everyone out of the rain it was a time for the reception.  Although Bathen House isn’t a large venue – catering for weddings and events with up to 40 people – it does have a great reputation for food and service.  The staff were friendly and helpful and the spacious lounge area provided a nice spot for everyone to relax with a drink for a couple of hours before the meal was due to be served.  As the wet weather continued through the afternoon, the lounge also doubled up as a spot for some group photos before Robin left for the day.

Steph and Tom’s day was so lovely to work on and it was nice to see a few familiar faces again.  A really big thank you to everyone.  Enjoy the pictures…
