Wedding photography at Hampton Manor, Hampton-in-Arden

Photographers Robin & Sarah relaxing on holiday

Hampton Manor is one of our favourite venues to photograph — a beautifully restored Victorian manor house set within 45 acres in the village of Hampton-in-Arden, on the Warwickshire and West Midlands border. We’ve photographed weddings here across all seasons over the years, and it’s a place that never fails to produce stunning images.

We’re Robin and Sarah, a husband and wife photography team based in Bromsgrove. We photograph weddings in a candid, documentary style — no staging, no faking, just honest pictures of your day as it really happens. If you’re planning a wedding at Hampton Manor and that approach appeals, we’d love to hear from you.

What we love about Hampton Manor

Hampton Manor gives you an enormous amount to work with photographically, and that’s true in every season. The 45-acre grounds offer old-growth trees, open lawns, wooded pathways and a beautiful rear terrace with the venue’s distinctive clock tower — all within easy reach throughout the day. Inside, the restored manor house has a grand staircase, large chandelier, and rooms with generous window light that work beautifully for both candid moments and portraits.

The variety of spaces is one of the things that makes it such a rewarding venue to photograph. From the intimate feel of the bedrooms and the light-filled Courtyard to the open grounds, there’s always somewhere interesting to work regardless of weather or time of day.

Getting ready at Hampton Manor

Hampton Manor has 15 individually styled bedrooms and suites, most with large windows that give us great natural light to work with. We cover the morning discreetly — capturing the atmosphere, the details and the portraits without staging or interrupting anything.

It’s worth knowing that the bedrooms aren’t always available to the wedding party on the morning of the event. When that’s the case, many grooms and their parties get ready at The White Lion — a pub directly across the road from the manor and an easy walk away.

Civil ceremonies in The Birches

The Birches is a licenced ceremony space in a converted outbuilding adjacent to the main manor house. It’s an intimate, nicely styled room and works well photographically — we can cover front and rear views throughout if there are two of us, making sure nothing gets missed.

Church ceremonies at St Mary & St Bartholomew

For a Church of England ceremony, the Parish Church of St Mary & St Bartholomew is a short walk through the Hampton Manor grounds — one of those details that makes the venue genuinely special. Church services run longer than civil ceremonies and we cover them from start to finish, liaising with the vicar beforehand so we’re not getting in the way.

Drinks reception on the terrace

Hampton Manor’s rear terrace is a beautiful setting for the drinks reception — spacious, with the clock tower as a backdrop and plenty of room for guests to spread out. In cooler months the main house interior works just as well, with its grand entrance hall and reception rooms.

This is always the busiest part of the day for photographs. Our priority is making sure you get proper time with your guests — the candid pictures of everyone relaxed and enjoying a drink are what we love most about this part of the day. We’ll get the group photos done efficiently and take the two of you away briefly for some couple portraits, but for this portion of the day we prefer to give you as much time as possible with your guests.

The Courtyard — wedding breakfast

The Courtyard is Hampton Manor’s principal dining space — a former orangery with a glass roof, bare brick and contemporary styling. It’s a dramatic room that photographs beautifully, and we’ll always spend a few minutes capturing the table settings, flowers, cake and room details before guests are called through.

During the meal we cover the speeches and the quieter candid moments — guests laughing, reactions, the small details that are easy to miss but important to have.

Evening party in The Courtyard

After the meal the Courtyard is rearranged as an evening party space with a full dancefloor. We get in amongst it — the first dance, the speeches if there are any in the evening, and as much dancefloor action as the night allows.

Couple portraits in the grounds

The Hampton Manor grounds give us a lot to work with — old-growth trees, open lawns, wooded pathways, the clock tower, the rear terrace and the manor house itself. At any time of year there’s somewhere beautiful to take you for twenty minutes away from the crowd.

We’ll give you enough direction to present well to the camera, but these sessions are less about posing and more about giving you a moment together during the busiest day of your lives. The pictures tend to be some of our favourites from the whole day.

Private events at Hampton Manor

In addition to weddings we also photograph private events at Hampton Manor — both of our examples here have been exclusive-hire celebrations, which gives the run of the venue and makes for a very different kind of day. If you’re planning a private event, take a look at the links below or get in touch.
