Abbie & Mike

A cosy Christmas wedding at Hogarths Stone Manor

Abbie and Mike’s winter wedding was held during Christmas week and was a smallish affair with about 20 guests.  They wanted a simple wedding with everything in one place and as little fuss as possible, while still being enjoyable for their friends and family.

As a wedding venue, the old Stone Manor Hotel, located part-way between Bromsgrove and Kidderminster, was always popular.  We remember it from our very early days of photographing weddings (a long time ago!) and it was always busy, often with multiple weddings happening on any given day.

In 2015, the hotel was purchased by Hogarths, who have been known in the Midlands for many years.  The new owners revamped the hotel, improving the style of the bedrooms and other spaces and brought it more up-market.  Hogarths Stone Manor as it is now known, isn’t the ‘wedding factory’ that it once was – it’s now a bit more relaxed, has a greater sense of style and is generally a nicer place all-round.

Short coverage photography for a small wedding

Abbie and Mike wanted just a couple of hours of photography – staring shortly before the civil ceremony, through the drinks reception and concluding when it was time to sit down for dinner.  As this was a winter wedding with a 4pm ceremony time, pretty much everything was indoors so everyone was able to keep warm and comfortable.

A really big thank-you to Mike and Abbie who were just lovely to work with.  Enjoy the pictures…
