Mill Barns Wedding Photographer

Early in July we were back at the popular Shropshire venue The Mill Barns for the wedding of Grace and Jon.  We were last here about a year prior and had similar conditions – a bit overcast with rain threatening, but mostly ‘ok’.  But unlike the weather, we again had a great couple and a cracking wedding to photograph..

Grace and Jon’s entire day was held at The Mill Barns with both bride and groom preparing for the day on-site at the venue.  They had a beautiful ceremony – the exchange of vows and the little expressions and gestures from both of them made for some really heartfelt pictures. There’s much more to photographing a ceremony than just the standard shots and very often it’s the pictures taken in-between the key points that are the most rewarding.  Lovely stuff.

We took Grace and Jon for a little photo tour of the grounds just after the speeches.  Although we’d had a few minutes outside with them in the afternoon, the early evening session is really where we get the best images.  With the formalities of the day mostly complete, the evening shoot is always more relaxed and without the time pressure that we often have to work with in the afternoon.  Grace and Jon just eased into it almost immediately so we were able to get some great expressive pictures of them around the Mill Barns gardens.

We loved working with Grace and Jon and indeed their whole wedding party.  Such a lively and vibrant day and at times genuinely touching, often hilarious but at all times honest and heartfelt.  What a good wedding should be.  Thanks Grace and Jon – you were brilliant.
