Emma & Pete’s Spring Wedding
Over the years we’ve done quite a few weddings in Stratford-upon-Avon and many of them have been on the smaller side. As a location for a small wedding, Stratford is a great choice as it has a registration office on one of the main pedestrian streets, lots of bars and restaurants capable of hosting a small wedding party and of course has many great spots for photos, all accessible on foot.
Wedding ceremony at The Henley Room
Like many other small Stratford weddings we’ve seen, Emma and Pete’s wedding ceremony took place at The Henley Room. Theirs was a very small wedding indeed, with just a handful of guests – including one with four legs! (though she had stay outside). It’s always fantastic to see dogs at weddings and I wish it was something we could see more often. But there was also an element to Emma and Pete’s day which we’d not seen before in all our years of photographing weddings – a boat trip!
Photo shoot around Stratford with river cruise on the Rita Ellen
After the ceremony was complete, a few simple group photos were done outside and then Robin took Emma and Pete off for a short time around the town before meeting the guests at the marina to embark on the Rita Ellen. This riverboat – operated by Bancroft Cruisers – was our home for the next hour and everyone enjoyed drinks and snacks as we cruised up and down River Avon. Peter and Emma booked Robin for slightly longer than normal to accommodate the boat trip. Once we were back on dry land there was still time left over so there was a final photo shoot down at the riverside – a perfect way to round off what had been a great few hours with some lovely people. A big thank you to Emma and Pete. Enjoy the photos…
