Wedding at Church of the Sacred Heart Droitwich with reception at Brockencote Hall

Michaela and Carl’s wedding was held on a lovely autumn day at two beautiful venues.  They came to us after seeing our previous work at their chosen reception venue – Brockencote Hall and our style fitted in perfectly with what they wanted.

Over the years we’ve seen more churches than we care to count, but nothing really prepared us for the church Michaela and Carl chose –  The Church of the Sacred Heart & Saint Catherine of Alexandria in Droitwich.  From the outside it’s quite an unassuming building sitting on one of the main roads into the town, but inside is absolutely stunning, with brightly coloured mosaics covering the walls, ceiling and archways.  This was a Catholic wedding service and as usual with our experiences at RC churches the staff were welcoming and friendly.

We’ve photographed weddings at Brockencote Hall many times and it’s always a nice venue to return to, especially when the autumn colours are on display.  However, with autumn and winter weddings we have to be more mindful of time during the afternoon so we can get everything done before the daylight fails.  For Michaela and Carl, this meant jumping into a ‘couple’ shoot as soon as we arrived at Brockencote Hall (well, after a quick champagne, of course).  This enabled us to make the best use of the remaining afternoon light while the guests were still arriving from the church.  After the couple shoot it was time for drinks and group photos on the terrace before the wedding meal and speeches and then it was onto the evening party and a packed dancefloor!

A really big thank you to Michaela and Carl!  Two of the loveliest people we’ve ever worked with and surrounded by a smashing crowd of family and friends.  Enjoy the pictures…
