“We have been so impressed by Robin and Sarah’s creativity, using the lighting on a very hot day to create the most beautiful photos. We will certainly treasure our photos forever!”

Wethele Manor is one of our favourite venues to photograph – a beautiful Georgian manor house set within a 250-acre working farm near Leamington Spa, operating on an exclusive-hire basis with a genuinely relaxed, rustic atmosphere that suits our style of photography perfectly.
We’re Robin and Sarah, a husband and wife photography team based in Bromsgrove. We’ve been photographing weddings at Wethele Manor since 2015 and are one of the venue’s official recommended photographers. If you’re planning your wedding there and are looking for candid, documentary-style photography with no staging or faking, we’d love to hear from you.
Wethele Manor gives you an enormous amount to work with photographically and the farm setting is what makes it stand out from most Warwickshire venues. Beyond the gardens and courtyard immediately surrounding the manor house, you have open crop fields stretching out in every direction – on a summer evening with the sun dropping, it’s one of the best settings we’ve encountered anywhere. The Orchard Bothy is another highlight – a beautifully crafted oak-beamed structure that works as a ceremony space, a group photo location and a natural gathering point throughout the day. Add the pond, the chalets, the barn and the bunting-strung courtyard and there’s rarely a quiet moment photographically.
Wethele Manor has two twin chalets situated by the pond, alongside the bedrooms of the main house itself – which means both parties can prepare for the day in completely separate spaces without crossing paths. The chalets in particular are well suited for getting ready photos, with good natural light and enough space to move around in without getting in the way.
Wethele Manor is licensed for civil ceremonies both indoors and outside, which gives you genuine flexibility on the day.
The Orchard Bothy — outdoor ceremonies
The Orchard Bothy is the standout ceremony space – a substantial oak-beamed open structure in the grounds that we’d rate as one of the best outdoor ceremony locations we’ve come across at any venue. It frames the ceremony beautifully for photographs and doubles as a focal point for couple portraits and group photos later in the day.
Indoors – the Oak Beamed Conservatory and Cordwainer’s Hall
For indoor ceremonies, Wethele Manor has two options: the Oak Beamed Conservatory and the Cordwainer’s Hall. Having more than one indoor option means there’s always a suitable backup if the weather doesn’t cooperate – something worth knowing if you’re planning a spring or autumn wedding.
The drinks reception is the busiest part of the day in terms of photography. At Wethele Manor the drinks reception takes place on the lawn and in the courtyard next the main house – there’s plenty of space for guests to spread out, with shade on hotter days and garden games adding to the relaxed atmosphere.
During this time we’ll usually take the two of you off for a few ‘couple’ pictures. Our priority during this part of the day is to give you time with your guests, so this couple session will be short and close by.
The drinks reception is also when we get the group photos done. The turning circle and courtyard outside the main house give us a great backdrop for a large group photo of the whole wedding party, and there’s enough space amongst the trees or in the courtyard to organise smaller family groups. We work through these efficiently so you’re back with your guests as quickly as possible – candid pictures of everyone relaxed and enjoying themselves are what we love most about this part of the day.
Wethele Manor’s large marquee is where the wedding breakfast and speeches take place – a spacious, light-filled space that can accommodate wedding parties of up to 250 guests and opens directly onto the lawn. Before guests are called through we’ll spend a few minutes photographing the table settings, flowers, cake and room details – it only takes five to ten minutes but these pictures are an important record of how the day looked.
During the meal we cover the speeches and the quieter candid moments between – guests laughing, reactions, the details that are easy to miss but matter when you look back.
After the meal, the evening party moves into The Barn – a separate but directly connected space with a full dancefloor, room for a live band or DJ, and enough capacity to keep the evening party from feeling cramped. We get in amongst it – the first dance, the dancefloor action, the quieter moments at the edges – and stay until the light and energy tell us we’re done.
The grounds at Wethele Manor give us a lot to work with for couple portraits — open crop fields, wooded areas, the courtyard, the Orchard Bothy and the manor house itself. In the evening the festoon lights strung across the courtyard add another dimension, and if the sun is going down over the fields we’ll always try to make use of it.
We’ll take you away from the crowd for as long or as short as you’d like. For summer weddings we always recommend doing a longer couple session in the evening light when the environment at Wethele can be absolutely beautiful.
We give you enough direction to present well to the camera, but these sessions are less about posing and more about getting you away from the crowd and enjoying some time together in the surroundings of the venue you’ve chosen.

“Thank you so much for these and for all your help and work on the day! We did as you advised and watched the slideshow last night on a proper screen and it was like being back there! The photos are amazing. We have no idea how you seemed to be everywhere all the time! We really love them!”
“Thank you both so much for the absolutely incredible photos you took on our special day; they completely surpassed what we thought possible!”
“From start to finish we were treated like friends rather than another ‘client’. We really felt at ease and in safe hands – something we as a ‘non posing’ couple really valued!”

Our experience at the venue:
We’ve photographed weddings at Wethele Manor since 2015 and are one of the venue’s recommended photographers. We know how the venue works, where the best light falls at different times of year and we get on great with the team of staff. It’s a venue that changes with the seasons and we’re always excited to return.
Pictures that are honest and natural:
Weddings are interesting just as they are – trends and social media fads really aren’t our thing – we just photograph the day for real. People book us because they love the natural, unforced style of pictures we produce.
Flexibility of coverage:
All bookings are available with one photographer or two, with options starting at two hours and going up to full day and beyond.
