Small & Micro Weddings

Part-day photography for intimate weddings & elopements

Is your heart set on having beautiful wedding photos but just for part of the day? We get it!

Over the years, some of the smaller, more intimate weddings we’ve seen have been our very favourites to photograph.  There’s a lovely feel to small weddings, the kind you only get with your closest friends and family.

Based in the Midlands, we offer part-day photography with one photographer, ideally suited to small and micro weddings, elopements and vow renewals.  We photograph them in exactly the same way as larger weddings but for a shorter portion of the day – fresh, classy and relaxed with a strong storytelling aspect.  The interactions of you with your friends and family –  the laughs, the hugs, the little moments.   There’s also some organised group photos of your nearest and dearest, some key details and of course there’ll be as many photos of the two of you as you’d like.

No awkwardness, faking or cheesy setups,  just a beautiful and cohesive set of pictures, with a natural, unobtrusive feel.

Small weddings, captured with our natural, unobtrusive style

Candid, unobtrusive images of you and your favourite people

With smaller weddings, the guest list is super personal and by keeping everything relaxed and natural we can capture the interactions for real.  The majority of pictures are taken discretely and ‘in the moment’ so there’s no need to fake or stage anything.

A handful of organised group photos

For posterity,  there’s always a small number of group photos of your nearest and dearest.

Groups are important.  They’re an organised record of the people you chose to share you day with, but understandably, people don’t want to be hanging around for them.  By keeping the group list short and sensible and by planning them all in advance with you, we can work through the groups quickly and efficiently.

The two of you  – couple photos

With us, couple photos are less about posing and more about about enjoying  the surroundings of your venue –  for as long or short a time as you prefer.

We’ll give you some simple direction, but really the couple photo session is about getting away from the crowd and spending some quiet time together.

FAQ for Smaller Weddings

A balanced mix of natural moments, beautiful portraits and a few arranged group photos.  Natural, relaxed and unfussy, with strong compositions, beautiful light, colour and life.

As standard, it’s one photographer (Robin).  For smaller weddings one photographer is usually sufficient.  If you’d really like to have Sarah there in addition then feel free to enquire and we can provide a quote.

Travelling is fine!  Our prices are completely transparent with no hidden extras so any travel considerations are already built into the price we quote you.

Yes, an album can be added to the package when you first book or at any point before the the final balance is due (one month prior to the date).  Albums can also be purchased after the wedding but will cost more.

Most of our smaller weddings are booked up to a few months ahead, so anything beyond that is more likely to have limited availability but there are plenty of exceptions.  Get in touch and we’ll see what’s possible.

Our small wedding options can begin with as little as 1 hour for very local weddings, but 2-6 hours is more typical.  How long you book for really depends on your plans.  Make an enquiry and we can talk further!

Top reasons to plan a small wedding

It’s just you & your closest friends and family

Keeping your guest list short doesn’t have to be negative.  Many of the couples we’ve worked with have said that it’s also liberating.

Less stress & pressure

Fewer guests means fewer considerations.  You can concentrate on a day that caters just for yourselves and people you’re closest to.

Choose a cosy, more intimate venue

Many wedding venues are set up to cater for 100 or more guests, but there are some really lovely boutique venues which are more suited a smaller wedding with a shorter guest list.

Enjoy more of what’s important to you

As there’s fewer guests to consider, planning a small wedding gives you the opportunity to spend the day doing what you enjoy  rather than doing what you feel you should.

Splash out on amazing food & drink

For those into their fine dining smaller weddings are great choice.  Rather than having to cater for dozens, you can opt for a more intimate setting which offers superb eating and drinking.
