Wedding at The White Swan Hotel,
Stratford-upon-Avon

Although we’ve worked at many of the venues in Stratford-upon-Avon, we never had the opportunity to photograph a wedding at The White Swan Hotel until A&S got in touch just a few weeks before their March 2025 date.  They liked the natural, relaxed and largely undirected nature of our photography, so after a chat on Zoom to make sure we were all on the same page they were booked in and ready to go.  They weren’t hosting a huge wedding – 55 guests and planned everything from morning to evening to happen at the venue.  They wanted coverage to begin an hour before the 3pm ceremony time until the evening party was in full swing.  The timings fell in-between our standard booking options so after a chat, we all decided that having just Robin for a total of about 7 hours was plenty for them.

The ceremony took place in the Capulet & Montague Suite and afterwards, everyone spilled out on the street in front of the hotel for confetti, group photos and of course those all-important first hugs and congratulations from the guests.   Thankfully the weather cooperated on this chilly, but beautifully sunny afternoon and continued to do so as Robin took the couple off for photos of the two of them alone.

Having photographed many weddings in the centre of Stratford, we’re well-used to taking couples off around the town for a photo walk.  Because time during the afternoon was quite short, it was important to keep the photos relatively local, so Robin took them to Firs Park – a small triangular area sitting between two of Stratford’s main roads and with a beautiful Chinese pagoda named the Peony Pavilion, gifted to the town as part of a UK-China cultural exchange.  Of course, walking to and from a location means there’s opportunities to be had both on the way to the location and on the return, so we went through the market area and used a few local buildings en-route to the park.

S&A were a smashing couple and their wedding day had a proper sense of fun and laughter from start to finish.  Enjoy the photos…
